    For more than a decade, the Stilton Cheese Rolling Festival has been an annual event in Stilton, England when hundreds of villagers and visitors battle for the honor of becoming cheese rolling champions.

    Local people are currently involved in a campaign to bring Stilton cheese making back to the village. The cheese is currently only made in the counties of Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire, Getty Images reported.

    Washington prepares for inauguration with dress rehearsal

    WASHINGTON — With his wife and two daughters at his side, President Barack Obama will raise his right hand and place his left on two stacked Bibles as he takes the oath of office for another four-year term. His second inauguration promises the pageantry of the firs, but on a smaller scale than 2009, when a record 1.8 million people filled the nation's capital to witness Obama making history as America's first black president.

    A total of 365 recruits were formally inducted into the Indian Border Security Force (BSF), an Indian paramilitary force, after completing 38 weeks of rigorous training in physical fitness, weapons handling, commando operations and counter insurgency, a BSF spokesman said.  The new recruits will join other Indian soldiers fighting Islamic guerrillas in Kashmir in an effort to end an insurgency that began in 1989.

    They do Greatmindless. All the islands celebrate their independence in addition to All Saints Day and more. The U.S. is fantastic that we can enjoy East Indian Day, Cinco de Mayo, Oktoberfest, festivals for Greeks, Italians, Syrians and more in this country and never have to venture overseas.

    The Japan Olympic Committee (JOC) held the first ever Olympic medallists parade hoping it will boost the city's bid to host the 2020 Summer Games.   

    Reuters reports: Japan's Olympic medallists brought downtown Tokyo to a standstill on Monday in an open-top bus victory parade witnessed by around 500,000 flag and fan-waving supporters.

    The convoy of five buses caused gridlock as fans and shoppers in Tokyo's upmarket Ginza district help celebrate Japan's record haul of 38 medals (seven gold, 14 silver and 17 bronze) at the London Olympics. Full story.

    Every year, St. Anthony, who was born is Lisbon, is celebrated in Portugal with parades, street parties, traditional dancing, fireworks and sardines. The saint was known for being a supporter of the poor, but also for talking to fish in the Italian town of Rimini.  His name is also invoked by women in search of good husbands.
