Behind-the-scenes on an Annie Leibovitz shoot for Disney

In this handout image provided by Disney Parks, Actor Russell Brand poses for acclaimed photographer Annie Leibovitz as Captain Hook from Disney's "Peter Pan" on Nov. 3, 2011 near Newhall, Calif. The new "Disney Dream Portrait," commissioned by Disney Parks for their ongoing celebrity advertising campaign which debuted in 2007, is one of two new images unveiled Aug. 1, 2012 by Disney Parks. The Leibovitz image, which will appear in several fall magazines, is entitled, "Where every moment leaves you hungry for more."

Actors Jack Black, Will Ferrell and Jason Segel pose for acclaimed photographer Annie Leibovitz as the comically spooky "Hitchhiking Ghosts" from Disney's landmark theme park attraction, the Haunted Mansion on March 5, near Lebec, Calif.

Rarely do we get a behind-the-scenes look at one of Annie Leibovitz's photo shoots. Even though these images were taken a few months ago, and have now been released for publicity purposes, I thought that other photographers might appreciate a peek at what it takes to pull off a big shoot with top celebrities.

Faces of the fans at Euro 2012 soccer tournament

    AFP - Getty Images

Pictures taken in June 2012 shows supporters from various countries during the Euro 2012 soccer championships.

Reuters reports -- Germany are blazing a trail, leaving awed competitors in their wake. Greece are perilously close to the exit.

It could be the euro zone, but this is Euro 2012.

Even at Europe's biggest international soccer tournament, it is hard to get away from the debt crisis afflicting some of the countries playing in the 16-nation competition.

Politicians from indebted countries such as Greece, Spain, Italy, Ireland and Portugal hope success on the pitch might - at least for a while - deflect attention from unemployment, homelessness and failing banks.

    Read the complete story.

The giant canvas, measuring 328 feet by 230 feet and weighing nearly two tons, was officially unveiled on Friday and will be displayed until the end of June, in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee, marking the Queen's 60 year reign.

The photograph, shot by an unknown photographer shows (L-R) Prince Charles, Prince Edward, Prince Andrew, Louis Mountbatten, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Mark Phillips and Princess Anne on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. Queen Elizabeth will mark her Diamond Jubilee by travelling in a 1,000-boat regatta on the river on June 3.

Israeli artists place large portraits on the side of a bridge near the city of Netanya, Israel, Sept. 15. Large black-and-white portraits have been cropping up on bridges, billboards and broken down buses all over Israel and the West Bank as part of an international project that allows people to turn their own pictures into works of art or political statements.

    The Week in Pictures: Outtakes

This engaging portrait was eliminated from this week's The Week in Pictures during the final round of editing. While the content was certainly unique, the editors felt the image didn't quite stand up to those that we did include in the final slideshow - a polar bear pawing a cruise ship, a Baptism photographed underwater, an iris-enlarging night scene and more.

Click to see the full slideshow for the week of July 22 - 29 and cast your vote. Tell us below, which image do you like best this week, and why?

We are a custom tile manufacturer Oregon. We have an 8’x8’ mosaic Marilyn Monroe mural made out of 1” mosaic tiles. We had this in our old showroom and we have moved and can no longer display the mural as nicely as we would have hoped to, therefore we are looking to sell it. email  …
