    Mourners lay to rest firefighter ambushed by gunman

    The casket of slain firefighter Tomasz Kaczowka is brought out of St. Stanislaus Church following his funeral service in Rochester, N.Y., on Dec. 31. Kaczowka was killed along with firefighter Michael Chiapperini while responding to a fire in Webster, New York on Dec. 24, where William Spengler shot at first responders.     West Webster firefighter Tomasz Kaczowka, 19, was laid to rest on Monday, after he and fellow firefighter Michael Chiapperini were ambushed and killed while responding to a fire on Dec. 24, according to the Democrat and Chronicle. Two other firefighters were also injured. Chiapperini's funeral was held on Sunday, the Associated Press reports.

    The killer murdered his own grandmother with a hammer. He should have been given the death penalty for that. Had that happened this tragedy would never have happened.

    Refugee in NY reunites with son after 34 years

    AP reports:

    "At this minute, I feel so excited and happy," Truong said as he stood next to his son at Rochester's airport surrounded by two dozen relatives and friends waving tiny U.S. flags and "Welcome Home" balloons. "We're going to have a big Thanksgiving holiday!

    U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer helped Truong obtain a visitor's visa for his son, a carpenter, to travel alone to Rochester to meet his father's family. During a four-month stay, Khumkhaw also plans to visit his 86-year-old grandfather in Texas.

    There was a time when the name Kodak meant photography. Today, this iconic company is rumored to be on the brink of a financial meltdown. NBC's Rehema Ellis reports.

    The whole, "Kodak couldn't adapt to the digital age" is a tired, unfounded narrative that keeps being pushed. The company was one of the few that basically set the digital standard for every camera we currently have.
