Waste in difficult economic times. Humm..... 120 X 2000 = 240,000 lbs of tomatoes @99 cents a pound that's $240,000 wasted, minus the touristic value of course. I say substract that from the bailout. Maybe it's not a good year to do the Tomatina.

Food Fight! Revellers pelted with tomatoes during the Tomatina festival near Valencia

    Heino Kalis / Reuters

Revellers throw tomatoes during the annual "Tomatina" (tomato fight) in the Mediterranean village of Bunol, near Valencia, August 31. The origin of the tomato fight is disputed - everyone in Bunol seems to have a favorite story - but most agree it started around 1940, in the early years of General Francisco Franco's dictatorship.

This looks like a lot of fun. Is it lunch-time yet?

Both are a waste. The poor bulls that are abused and the waste of food while people around the world and right here in the USA, starve. The Government should do away with both of these unnecessary, selfish, cruel (bulls) practices. I pray for an evolved species on this planet.
