Ice climbers make their way up a wall of ice in Harts Location, N.H. on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Harts Location, N.H. is far more than a suitable place to ice climb. It's also been the first place in the country to cast ballots in Presidential elections.

Since 1948, the town has been taking advantage of a state law that allows communities to close polls early if all registered voters have cast ballots. It's not ice climbing, but you can read more about Harts Location here.

Sudanese men unload sacks of food during a distribution by the World Food Programme in Juba on January 13, 2011.

Lentils distributed by World Food Programme during Sudan's referendum

    By John Brecher

When I see pictures like this, I wonder about the farmer who grew the lentils, if he or she had any idea that the harvest would end up feeding people in Sudan. Sudan's in the middle of a momentous decision, voting on whether the south part of the country should secede. At play are religious and ethnic divisions and also a lot of oil, which lies in the south. To see more pictures, have a look at our slideshow.

    Older voters in 2010?

Exit polls are showing this years' voters to be an older and more conservative electorate. What are you seeing at your polling places?
