People are going without shelter, clothing and food and we have to be entertained by disgusting displays of in your face wealth. A glass of that $hit could feed a family for quite a while. So do us a favor, keep it to yourselves or at least display it in Architectural Digest or something similar.

Reuters reports: Nik Wallenda, a member of the famed "Flying Wallendas" family of aerialists, completed a historic tightrope crossing through the mist over Niagara Falls Gorge on Friday, stepping from a two-inch (5 cm) cable onto safe ground in Canada to wild cheers from onlookers.

Former England cricketer Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff drives outside Wembley football stadium as he attempts to break the world record for the fastest 3-point turn in a car in London.

According to the Mirror, among the records Flintoff failed to reach was eating a muffin in 35 seconds:

So far the sporting pro has achieved three official Guinness World Records: Fastest time to drink a hot chocolate (5.45 seconds), fastest 100 metres on a pedalo (with Steve Harmison) in 1 minute 58.62 seconds and most Facebook likes in one hour at 52,719! But it hasn’t come easy...

Since kicking off his epic 12 hour record-breaking challenge at Wembley Stadium, Freddie has attempted to complete numerous challenges – a 100ft reverse bungy, a three point turn in under 15 seconds, reaching 43mph in the world’s fastest toilet, eating a muffin in 35 seconds, wrapping somebody in newspaper in 3 minutes 7 seconds and zorbing 100 metres in 30 seconds – but they have all proved just a little too much for the sport star and he has missed each one by just a matter of seconds.

The beginning of the World Record TV watching contest.

By David R Arnott, NBC News

A Dutch television station has launched a bid to set a new world record for the length of time a single person can watch TV without a break. The Last Man Watching contest will itself be televised live, though why anybody would want to watch other people watching television for hour after hour remains unclear. According to the organizers, the current record stands at 86 hours, 6 minutes and 41 seconds.

The video at right is pretty funny, even if you don't speak Dutch.
